Tasik Chini Day 2

After our breakfast, we had a demonstration from Ruth's mum on how to tap a rubber tree. After the boys experimented with making their own rubber bands, Luke had the biggest moth land on his back which he proceeded to travel with during the walk ahead. We then headed to Batin's house to speak to him and ask him questions about his job. After this we went to the local primary school where we met many extremely well behaved children and not a single teacher in sight. From here we met up with Batin again and helped him and his son collect litter from the water front of Lake Chini. We returned for lunch and a rest before the blow pipe competition. It was a close completion expect from Nishil who struggled to hit the board all together and managed to lose two darts. It the end it was Alex who just beat out Will and Joe Abbott to victory. After the competition we had the split the team in two groups, one was Charlie's group and Courtney had the leftovers, hehe! We made a collage each which we would present to Ruth later after dinner, once these were done the boys participated in another competition for a ruth in collecting the seeds from the rubber tree. Courtney's groups collected a staggering amount and crushed Charlie's team with only a half bag full! The group then had free time to practice their presentation for Ruth this evening! Joe Wilmot and Kieran decided to recreate their third place dance from strictly come dancing and the rest planned stories to tell of their time so far in Malaysia. At 5:30 the whole group came together to prepare dinner for everyone. They were split in pairs and given a item of food each to prepare. The kitchen was full of chefs! Once all was done we enjoyed our lovely food with big smiles. Ruth and her close family joined us after dinner for the presentation where the boys delivered some lovely stories and dancing. The leaders also did the Hockey Cokey! Ruth presentated each person with a gift so they could remember their stay here, even the leaders got some lovely outfits. The boys then had to make sure they were all packed and ready for the early morning as we leave for the bus at 7:30!
