Getting to Tasik Chini

After waking up early in our own house we rented, we managed to lose our group phone charger and spent the next half hour rummaging through our bags for it. Without finding it, we headed out for breakfast and to find a phone shop. Some boys were quite surprised to be eating full Indian meals at 9am in the morning but we were all surprised that our whole group meal cost less than 18 pounds for 13 of us to eat. After catching a bus to the long distance station, we waited for our bus to Chini. While we waited for our bus, some boys went off to buy fruit for snacks while others managed to find a new phone charger. We enjoyed our open door bus ride which was welcomed when we realised  it was the only source of air conditioning we would get. We were met in Chini with a cattle truck which the boys piled into for the bumpy ride to Tasik Chini. They played an enjoyable game of 'duck the trees' along the way. When we arrived at Rajan Jones Guest House, we met with owner Ruth who provided us with snacks of juice and noodles after our journey. We had the rest of the afternoon to relax and settle into our rooms before our induction later in the evening. After dinner Ruth told us all about the area and some of the things we would be doing over the next few days. After another night of heavy rain and screaming cats, we all headed to bed.
